Job summary

Schneider Electric Power Systems in Mount Juliet, TN is seeking an Engineer I, Mechanical. The role focuses on designing enclosures and assemblies for Medium Voltage products, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, and supporting product introductions at manufacturing sites.

The position is onsite for the first six months, with potential for a hybrid schedule after that with supervisor approval, up to 1–2 days remote per week.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering strongly preferred; technical degree with 2-4 years may be considered.
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling software – Creo preferred.
  • Experience designing Sheet Metal enclosures.
  • US citizen or legal right to work in the US with no sponsorship.
  • Aptitude to succeed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aptitude to learn medium voltage switchgear / mechanical design of electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret customer specifications and elementary electrical schematics.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings for development of custom busbar, barriers, and sheet metal parts.
  • Generate complete 3D assemblies of customer orders.
  • Develop and maintain bills of materials to meet custom applications.
  • Coordinate with production and other support functions to resolve design issues promptly.

Schneider Electric Power Systems has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to assume the role of Engineer I, Mechanical in our Mount Juliet, TN facility.

This is an onsite role for the first six months with the potential for a hybrid work schedule with supervisor approval once that is completed (1-2 days of remote work per week).

Overview

The Project Engineering Team is looking for an Engineer to support the design of Medium Voltage equipment based on our customer’s plans and specifications. These products are applied to distribute utility and generator power to various environments, including industrial, water/wastewater, and data centers. The candidate is responsible for designing enclosures and assemblies for our Medium Voltage products, implementing designs, and supporting product introduction at our manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities
