Implement API security and governance controls. Configure and maintain authentication, authorization, API key management, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, mutual TLS (mTLS), rate limiting, throttling, and related API security controls.

Partner with Cybersecurity teams to support vulnerability remediation, compliance initiatives, and alignment with organizational security standards.

Support platform operations and performance. Monitor API gateway availability, latency, throughput, utilization, and platform health. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, participate in incident response, and optimize gateway scalability, resilience, and operational performance.

Develop automation and DevOps capabilities. Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for API gateway deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools. Collaborate on architecture and provide technical guidance. Partner with Solution Architects, application development teams, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and Security teams to design API integration solutions aligned with enterprise standards. Review API designs, contribute to architecture discussions, mentor junior engineers, and support platform modernization initiatives.

Maintain documentation and drive continuous improvement. Develop and maintain technical documentation, API standards, operational procedures, and implementation guidance. Evaluate emerging API management technologies, recommend improvements, and contribute to better developer experience, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.
