Job summary

What You Will Accomplish
  • Engineer III creates an experience for our hotel guests by offering them a larger than home experience with welcoming, helpful, and exceptional service, while maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and inviting environment.
  • Maintain warm and hospitable guest relations in all guest contact.
  • Maintain all areas of the hotel and its common areas in good working order, being aware of any potential emergency situation.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and maintain all equipment on a regular basis.
  • Transmit and receive messages using all communication avenues.
  • Be aware of all operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention, firefighting, traffic control, power outages, or any other emergency situations.
  • Use the appropriate safety equipment when working on a project or repairs.
  • Respond to and resolve all guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Thoroughly complete projects and assignments professionally with care.
  • Report all items in need of repair to supervisor and maintain equipment used in work.
  • Protect guest safety and well-being.
  • Adjust to high pressure conditions and be open to change.
  • Assume responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Conduct yourself professionally; set standards for all.
  • Express ideas and convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Work to resolve disagreements and be respectful of peers and co-workers.
  • Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards.
  • Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests.
  • Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule.
  • Obtain a Pool Certification within the first 90 days of hire.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What You Will Bring
  • Knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Good mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to actively listen to others.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and pull 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body (e.g., climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling materials).
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of walking.
  • Ability to operate automatic and manual vehicles.
  • At least 1-2 years of related repair experience in building maintenance, heating/venting/air conditioning, or related field, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • CPR and First Aid Training preferred.
  • HVAC and Pool Certified preferred.
