Job description

Hourly Rate: $36.00 per hour.

The EngineerI position at Pacific Hospitality Group involves maintaining guest satisfaction and the operational integrity of hotel facilities. The role blends hands‑on repair work with a focus on exceptional guest service and safety compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Create a larger‑than‑home experience for guests with welcoming, helpful, and exceptional service while maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and inviting environment.
  • Be aware and attentive to guests’ safety needs; converse and share moments to build real connections.
  • Maintain warm and hospitable guest relations throughout all guest contact.
  • Keep all areas of the hotel and its common areas in good working order, anticipating any potential emergency situation.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and maintain all equipment on a regular basis.
  • Transmit and receive messages using all communication avenues.
  • Know operational procedures for fire prevention, firefighting, traffic control, power outages, and other emergencies.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment while working on projects or repairs.
  • Respond to and resolve all guest requests, complaints, or questions courteously and promptly.
  • Complete projects and assignments professionally with care.
  • Report all items requiring repair to a supervisor and maintain equipment used in the work.
  • Protect guest safety and well‑being at all times.
  • Adjust to high‑pressure conditions and remain open to change.
  • Assume responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Conduct oneself professionally, setting high standards for all interactions.
  • Express ideas and convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Resolve disagreements respectfully and support peers and coworkers.
  • Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing, drywall repair, painting, electrical, and general repair skills.
  • Excellent organization and time‑management abilities.
  • Secure tools, equipment, and supplies to protect company assets.
  • Must obtain or already hold a Pool Certification within the first 90 days of hire.
  • English language proficiency for effective communication with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Good mathematical and computer skills.
  • Active listening and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift 45pounds and pull 30pounds; perform physical activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Ability to operate automatic and manual vehicles.
  • At least 3‑5 years of repair experience in building maintenance, heating/ventilation/air‑conditioning, or a related field, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred.
  • HVAC and Pool certification required.
