Responsibilities
- Handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs.
- Handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the building.
- Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public areas in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
- Clean all stations in Engineering, grease traps, plumbing stoppages and maintain an organized department and hotel.
- Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
- Maintain the physical property and furnishings in a manner consistent with a luxury hotel.
- Clean and touch up painted surfaces throughout the hotel; maintain brushes and rollers in good condition.
- Complete all assigned work in a safe and timely manner and use safety precautions when using tools, chemicals, ladders or other potentially dangerous equipment.
- Complete all assigned projects in a timely fashion and maintain a clean, neat, organized work area.
- Reflect high standards of professionalism and maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Respond to hotel emergencies or safety situations and report accidents promptly.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- Maintain and re-lamp all lamps in the hotel, including socket repair and replacement; install electrical wiring for renovations, outlets, motors and related equipment.
- Clean stations in Engineering and maintain a neat and organized department; adjust and clean televisions; respond to guest complaints regarding maintenance.
- Assist on plumbing stoppages and major shut downs for repairs; assemble desks, shelving, cabinets, etc. as assigned.
- Assist guests with special requests (e.g., opening luggage when keys are lost) and respond to work orders or room inspection reports from Department Heads.
- Maintain logs for all work performed while on duty; treat urinals with de-liming solution; clean light fixtures and shades; unplug toilets and change valves and valve seats.
- Maintain a good working relationship with other employees and provide instruction and encouragement as needed.
- Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
Ideal candidate will have
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar kitchen or hotel operation.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Legal work authorization in the United States.
Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience or related work.
- Good communication and written skills.
