Job summary

Ameristar Casino Resort Spa is seeking a dedicated facilities maintenance team member to support outdoor areas including decks, grounds, and entrances. The role involves cleaning, litter removal, salting walkways, and basic equipment repair in a fast-paced casino environment.

Ideal candidates will have facilities maintenance experience in hospitality or grounds keeping, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a high level of organization.

Responsibilities

• Pressure washes outside of the casino, decks, and entrances.
• Clean ground and remove litter.
• Remove trash from parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Spread salt to prevent ice buildup on walkways.
• Water lawns and trim shrubs; maintain landscape.
• Clean drainage and culverts; keep outdoor areas sanitary.
• Maintain outdoor smoking area and parking lots.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower and snow removal tools.
• Adhere to uniform appearance standards during duty.

Responsibilities

• Pressure washes outside of casino, decks, entrances to the casino, and other areas as needed and/or as directed.
• Clean ground and remove litter.
• Remove all trash from parking lot as needed.
• Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
• Water lawn and shrubs; trim plants as needed.
• Clean out drainage, ditches, and culverts.
• Maintain cleanliness of outside smoking area
• Maintain parking lots and adjacent areas in a sanitary manner.
• Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
• This is a uniformed position, which requires that Team Member’s are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty.

Requirements

• Facilities maintenance in hospitality or a related field or grounds keeping/landscaping experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic finishing
• Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive approach to dealing with issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization.
