HOTEL PASEO, Autograph Collection, in Palm Desert is seeking an Engineer to perform day-to-day and preventative maintenance of the hotel and its facilities, under Engineering Management. Join a boutique luxury property within the Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio.

The role covers PMs across building systems, responding to service calls, and ensuring safety and efficiency while supporting guest experiences at a 150-room property and related amenities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Effective communication with guests and associates.
• Ability to work as an independent mechanic.
• Analyze problems, identify actions, and implement solutions.
• Punctual, uniformed, and ready for work.

We are seeking an Engineer to provide day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance of the hotel. What will you be doing?

Keep all building and equipment in good repair with a minimum of down time by providing day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering services to both guests and associates while sharing day-to-day knowledge and skills. The hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize and be aware that at times it may be necessary to change shifts to meet business demands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform daily shift reports.
• Document all calls for service.
• Monitor and close out calls through computer.
• Follow all OSHA standards and procedures.
• Maintain interior and exterior of building.
• Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guests and associate requests.
• Brand standard, service standards, meet guest service expectations.
• Perform PM on throughout facility on all equipment.
• Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water.
• Troubleshoot, repair and or maintain the following:
  • All building and FF&E
  • Air conditioning and Refrigeration equipment
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical equipment, IE motors, starters, pumps, fans, generators and chillers
  • Plumbing and drains
  • Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
• Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms and appearance are maintained.
• Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
• Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
• Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous engineering experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, SDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
• Must be able to work as an independent mechanic
• Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions.
• Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
• Must be punched in, uniformed and ready for work as scheduled.
• Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
