Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, owner of HOTEL PASEO, Autograph Collection in Palm Desert, is seeking a Housekeeper. You will prepare rooms for guests, clean and restock amenities, and maintain spotless, inviting spaces throughout the property, contributing to the boutique resort experience guests expect from this desert retreat.

Responsibilities include cleaning stay-over and check-out rooms, handling supplies, and responding to guest requests with prompt, courteous service.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull heavy items.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Professional appearance and conduct.
• Experience in hotel housekeeping preferred.

• Clean stay-over and check-out rooms, change sheets, restock towels and amenities.
• Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms, including bathrooms, walls and furniture.
• Vacuum rooms, empty trash, restock amenities, organize closets.
• Make up rollaway beds and notify attendants for storage.
• Respond to guest requests with courteous service.
• Follow safety rules and report hazards.

We are seeking a Housekeeper who will help make our guests feel at home by preparing our rooms for the next guests, cleaning, restocking items and helping keep all areas in the hotel clean, neat and tidy. Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio, HOTEL PASEO offers guests a distinctive desert retreat featuring 150 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, many showcasing breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and palm-lined landscape. Guests can unwind by our resort-style pool and on-site spa, explore the area on complimentary bicycles, and enjoy inspired dining at Larkspur Grill, Lemon Drop Pool Bar or Café Paseo. Located along world-renowned El Paseo, our boutique hotel places guests steps from premier shopping, art galleries, acclaimed restaurants, and vibrant nightlife while serving as the perfect gateway to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. We have opportunities for both full time and part time associates.

What will you be doing?

• Ensure prompt, courteous, and superior service to all guests.
• Clean stay-over and check-out rooms, changing sheets and replenishing towels and amenities as needed.
• Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms, including bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, floors, and furniture paying close attention to details.
• Vacuum rooms, empty trash, restock amenities, and organize housekeeping closets.
• Make up rollaway beds and cribs in vacated rooms and notify house attendants for storage.
• Respond quickly to guest requests, follow chemical safety rules, and handle hazardous materials properly.
• Report suspicious activities and hazardous conditions to Security; turn in found items to Lost and Found.
• Maintain high guest relation standards and assist with requests for additional items.
• Other duties as assigned.

What do you bring to the role?

• Previous experience in the same or a similar position at a full service hotel such as a guest room attendant, cleaner, or other housekeeping roles such as cleaning in hotels, hospitals, casinos or residential are preferred.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
• Physical stamina to complete repetitive manual labor tasks.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, stretch, and use a vacuum and push a cart on a regular and extended basis.
• High school education or equivalent.
