Job summary

Sun Outdoors Ocean City seeks a Maintenance Engineer to support daily resort operations in Berlin, MD. The role involves hands-on maintenance of guest cottages, common areas, and equipment to keep the property safe, functional, and guest-ready.

You will perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC repairs, inspect facilities, and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations. The position is full-time and seasonal, with flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in hospitality or resort maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general repair techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair resort equipment, facilities, pools, and common-area systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and team members in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks to help reduce equipment downtime and service interruptions.
  • Inspect resort facilities regularly to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas while following company safety procedures.
  • Assist during emergencies such as power outages, severe weather, or equipment failures.
  • Work closely with other departments to support smooth day-to-day resort operations.
  • Keep accurate records of completed work orders, repairs, and inspections.
  • Support additional maintenance projects and operational tasks as assigned.

Job description

The Engineer supports the daily operation and upkeep of the property by maintaining guest cottages, common areas, and resort equipment. This hands‑on role helps ensure the resort remains safe, functional, and guest‑ready through routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive care.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred, ideally in hospitality, resort, campground, or property maintenance settings
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete basic repairs independently
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
