Job summary

Mustang Cat in Texas is seeking a Technical Communicator to provide technical assistance to the dealership and customers. Responsibilities include resolving technical problems across stores and collaborating with service teams to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

Qualified candidates will have a diesel technology or related degree (or equivalent experience), strong reading of schematics, and knowledge of CAT data systems. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• College degree in Diesel Technology or Ag Mechanization or related field.
• Equivalent work experience considered in lieu of education.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines; spark vs compression ignition.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, and machining specs.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (dial bore gauges, micrometers, etc).
• Familiarity with CAT and Mustang data/service systems.
• Strong soft skills for a technical professional whose insights influence service revenue.

Responsibilities

• Consult with stores to resolve critical technical problems and improve technician skills.
• Provide technical support for Mustang Power Systems shop and field service teams across locations.
• Communicate with CAT engineers via DSN to resolve issues quickly.
• Perform goodwill requests and assist district representatives in problem resolution.
• Collaborate with Technical Services and service techs to troubleshoot needs.
• Step in for absent Technical Communicators and maintain strong written and verbal communication.
• Help define and solve technical problems; assist sales and parts with technical matters.
• Foster cross-departmental teamwork and coordinate with Caterpillar on economical solutions.
