Job summary

Mustang Cat – Houston, a Caterpillar dealer since 1952, seeks an Engine Technical Communicator to provide expert technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor dealer technicians within the Power Systems Division. You will diagnose, analyze failures, and collaborate with Caterpillar engineers to resolve high-priority problems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Diesel Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong hands-on experience with Caterpillar engines & power systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist service teams across locations in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues.
• Provide expert guidance to Mustang Power Systems shop and field service teams (Large Bore 290, Marine, EPG, Tomball, Waller).
• Collaborate with Caterpillar engineers via DSN to resolve critical issues.
• Conduct applied failure analysis and manage technical service requests.
• Work with district CAT Representatives to resolve warranty concerns.
• Develop cost-efficient solutions for equipment performance issues.
• Mentor dealer technicians to enhance technical proficiency.
• Assist sales and parts teams with technical product knowledge.
• Work closely with Caterpillar to improve equipment performance and service processes.
