Job summary

VSE Aviation in the United States manages and oversees the repair process for engines in the Commercial Inventory Services department, ensuring efficient repair operations, vendor management, and adherence to quality standards. You will drive continuous improvement, analyze quotes and repair orders, collaborate with customers and vendors, and lead repair administrators.

Travel as needed and uphold safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• 4 years of relevant/technical work experience.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, algebra).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in standardized situations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, employees and vendors.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve/reject/negotiate quotes from repair vendors and decide on parts disposition.
• Review repair requests and authorize repair orders based on inventory and quote history; select vendors by turnaround time and pricing; update inventory after receipt of repaired parts.
• Analyze department and repair reports; issue repair orders for materials; expedite and track sold items; maintain records.
