Job summary

Kinder Morgan is looking for a skilled maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and related auxiliary systems in an industrial setting in Texas. You will perform heavy maintenance on reciprocating and turbine engines, compressors, and prime movers, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to mentor teammates, and readiness to travel up to 50% with occasional after-hours availability.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance of reciprocating/centrifugal compressor units; turbine engines and natural gas compressors preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the company and insurers.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of compressor engines.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform heavy maintenance and replacement of engines, compressors, and prime movers.
• Mentor team mates on operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Identify, report, and assist in correcting safety and environmental concerns.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately and maintain company records.
• Work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory/tariff requirements.
• Respond to calls during emergencies and after-hours as needed.
• Operate forklifts and light industrial equipment as required.
• Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and regulatory officials.
