Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Mechanic Specialist to maintain reciprocating engines, compressors, and associated equipment across Alabama locations. The role involves troubleshooting, overhauls, and travel as needed to support pipeline and refinery operations.

The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, safety compliance, and the ability to work on a four 10-hour day schedule with potential extended hours and weekend work. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to respond to callouts and emergencies after hours.
• Experience maintaining compressors, engines, pumps, turbines, and related equipment.
• Valid driver's license and insurability requirements; CDL may be required.
• Achieve and maintain OQ qualifications and progression requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on reciprocating engines and compressors, including prime movers and auxiliary units.
• Report to a Crew Leader and document maintenance activities.
• Assess engine and compressor components per manufacturer specs.
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Complete paperwork timely and accurately.
• Comply with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain regular attendance and high performance; overtime may be required.
• Operate a company vehicle as needed and respond to after-hours calls.
• Work safely and protect personnel, assets, and the public.
