Job summary

Caterpillar Lafayette is hiring Assembly Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shifts to build large diesel and natural gas engines at the Lafayette, IN facility. You will assemble components, read engineering prints, and support testing, painting, and shipping when needed.

Qualifications include auto/diesel or manufacturing experience, a technical degree, and the ability to work overtime. Medical/dental/vision coverage and a 6% shift premium are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional auto/diesel/farm maintenance experience.
• Two years in commercial construction maintenance/repair.
• Two years manufacturing experience.
• Technical degree in diesel engine, automotive, electrical, or construction equipment technology.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large diesel and natural gas engines and subassemblies.
• Read engineering prints and follow standard work and factory paperwork.
• Operate hand and pneumatic tools and torque equipment.
• Assist in testing, painting, and shipping preparation.
• Support safety, quality, and production goals in the area.
• Utilize MS Office and basic computer skills for documentation.
