Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking an AWS-Level 4 CNC Machinist Technician for the Lafayette facility. The role covers 7pm–7am with two shift options, offering $30.28/hour with a 6% shift differential and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of manufacturing experience with multi-axis CNC machining.
• Ability to program CNC machines with Fanuc, Siemens or other controllers.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, SPC, tolerances and CMM data.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and work in lean environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and NC machines, move materials, and ensure quality and housekeeping.
• Interpret CNC programs and diagrams, adjust offsets as required, monitor tool life.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and program issues; work overtime as needed.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and maintain schedule.
• Maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
