Job summary

Invenergy LLC, North America's largest private developer, owner, and operator of power infrastructure, is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Transactions. You will support development, construction, finance and management of renewable energy projects, advising on a broad range of commercial arrangements.

The role requires experience in energy project development, finance and M&A, and you will collaborate with internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

• JD degree and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• 5-7+ years of experience in energy project development, finance and M&A.
• Experience drafting and negotiating energy project documentation.
• Proven ability to lead transactions to completion.
• Strong research, due diligence, and closings management.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts to management.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to project development, commercial execution, finance and capital markets teams on a wide variety of commercial transactions.
• Guide transaction structuring.
• Draft and negotiate project and financing documentation.
• Manage outside counsel efficiently.
• Ensure consistency and compliance with internal policies.
• Provide additional legal support as needed; travel and overtime may be required.
