North Shore Community College seeks an Energy Systems Manager (Staff Associate) to oversee EMS/BAS operations, connect energy meters, and analyze utility data to reduce consumption and costs. The role supports the Facilities Operations team across campus energy initiatives and maintenance programs.

The position requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background with relevant BAS experience, strong communication, and a commitment to energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with 1-3 years' experience, or Associate degree with 4+ years' experience.
• Experience with Energy Management Systems and Building Automation Systems; familiarity with Niagara 4, TacVista, Allerton BAS.
• Knowledge of energy conservation, solar arrays, demand response programs.
• Experience in commissioning/retro-commissioning of mechanical systems and ASHRAE audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate the Energy Management Systems and troubleshoot EMS/BAS issues.
• Conduct field investigations to verify systems operate correctly and coordinate repairs.
• Oversee building automation system vendors and collaborate with Facilities leadership.
• Monitor energy consumption and optimize system scheduling for efficiency and cost savings.
• Provide 24/7 emergency response for EMS/BAS when required.
• Review construction projects for energy conservation and participate in project management.
