Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks an Energy Systems Electrical Engineer to act as SME for the UMD NextGen Energy Program. The role focuses on all electrical, instrumentation, and control facets of Energy Systems at the UMD College Park campus, with strict onsite commitment to the NextGen Program.

Responsibilities include modeling 13.8 kV MV systems, SCADA/DCS analysis, capital project oversight, and vendor interfaces to support decarbonization goals. Requires on-site presence five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE license registered in Maryland or ability to reciprocate.
• 10+ years in electrical equipment/systems design, analysis and operation.
• SKM PowerTools modeling for short circuit, coordination and arc flash.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for electrical, instrumentation and control components of UMD Energy Systems.
• Analyze, design and operate MV distribution (≥13.8 kV) and power generation systems.
• Model power systems, perform load flow, and evaluate campus expansion requests.
• Oversee SCADA/DCS data to optimize the central energy plant performance.
• Interface with vendors, manage capital projects from design to completion.
