Job summary

Honeywell seeks an Energy Systems Electrical Engineer for the University of Maryland NextGen Energy Program. The role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, with on-site presence at UMD College Park and management of capital projects to support decarbonization goals.

The candidate will model, analyze, and optimize MV distribution, power generation, and SCADA/DCS operations, coordinating with vendors and ensuring program success.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license (Maryland) or reciprocity in process.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical systems design and operation.
• SKM Power*Tools modeling for short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for UMD Energy Systems.
• Analyze and design medium voltage distribution (≥13.8 kV) and power generation.
• Lead capital projects from design to completion.
• Interface with vendors and contractors and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
