Job summary

ITA International, a tech-enabled professional services company, seeks a Science and Innovation Manager to lead Energy, Environment and Sustainability thrusts in Blacksburg, VA. You will guide technical priorities, collaborate with federal agencies and universities, and drive research that aligns with customer needs and mission objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Toxicology, Atmospheric Science, Materials Science, Public Health, or related field; PhD preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment.
• Experience managing technical teams on research projects.
• Experience growing business with a focus on consultative customer partnerships.
• Track record in acquiring federal contracts and/or research funding; multi-million dollar funding acquisition preferred.
• Demonstrated publications, conference presentations, or technical reports in environmental science.

Responsibilities

• Establish technical priorities and research strategies aligned with federal priorities and customer needs.
• Identify emerging technologies and analytical methods to enhance ITA's programs.
• Translate scientific advances into practical solutions for clients and missions.
• Foster collaborations with federal agencies, universities, and industry to advance research and funding.
• Publish and present findings to enhance ITA's technical reputation.
• Promote a culture of scientific rigor and innovation across ITA's environmental science portfolio.
• Lead efforts to expand environment and sustainability business opportunities, with focus on federal contracts and funding opportunities.
• Develop capture strategies and compliant, compelling proposals.
• Build strategic relationships to access funding opportunities and strengthen competitive positioning.
• Represent ITA at federal meetings and environmental science conferences to identify requirements and funding opportunities.
• Monitor environmental technologies and regulatory initiatives to identify new services and capabilities.
• Provide leadership positioning ITA for future growth with emphasis on proactive opportunity identification and proposal development.
