Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia seeks a Senior Energy and Sustainability Engineer to join the Office for Sustainability. You will lead technical analyses, retro-commissioning, energy audits, and project management to meet UVA's energy and environmental goals.

Reporting to the Sustainability Engineering Manager, you will help advance goals such as carbon neutral by 2030 and fossil fuel-free by 2050, supporting the Building Efficiency Program across many buildings with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field related to mechanical, electrical, civil, or architectural engineering.
• Minimum of seven years of related experience in HVAC design, project management, commissioning, or energy performance contracting.

Responsibilities

• Scope, manage, and complete Building Efficiency Program projects.
• Develop project budgets and schedules; track progress and energy cost recovery.
• Provide engineering calculations and analysis of building systems.
• Perform HVAC ventilation and airflow calculations; determine optimized setpoints.
• Review design projects for compliance with UVA's Green Building Standards.
• Coordinate with occupants, stakeholders and contractors to meet construction schedules.
