Job summary

Fluence, a global leader in energy storage and optimization software, seeks a Portfolio Finance Manager to oversee a portfolio of BESS projects in the Americas. You will drive financial controls, contract compliance, and forecasting while partnering with project teams and suppliers.

You will interface with stakeholders to ensure adherence to financial terms, manage risk, and optimize margins across complex EPC engagements. Fluence offers growth in a dynamic energy transition environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financially managing large projects, preferably in the energy sector, including EPC and equipment supply agreements.
• Advanced understanding of project accounting methods, including POC revenue recognition.
• Advanced knowledge of project lifecycle and activities.
• Advanced understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions.
• Advanced understanding of project risk management (insurance, securities, guarantees, LDs).
• Experienced in negotiating with customers and suppliers.
• Experienced with NetSuite, SAP, Unifier Primavera or similar systems.
• Strong MS Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• MBA or CPA a plus.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be financially responsible for a portfolio of projects in the Americas region.
• Provide timely transparency around project performance vs. budget; update EAC for Revenue, Cost, Margin.
• Ensure adherence to accounting guidelines and commercial terms; flag risks.
• Maintain accurate project forecasts including known risks and opportunities.
• Implement internal controls related to Order-to-Cash processes.
• Drive project performance via change orders and supplier claims.
• Review and process project transactions (requisitions, invoices).
• Track and mitigate contract penalties (performance guarantees, liquidated damages).
• Organize project reviews across contract lifecycle.
• Report non-conformance costs and help identify issue resolution groups.
• Manage construction subcontractors and suppliers to maintain schedule and quality.
• Understand and manage sales, property, and personal tax requirements.
• Improve onboarding and execution processes across projects.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

MBA or CPA a plus

MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Spanish language proficiency (written and spoken)
