Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Design Phase Executive (Preconstruction Executive) in our Energy Storage group to provide advanced project leadership during the design phase as it relates to customer experience, financial performance, schedule, estimating, design and planning resulting in a smooth transition to construction operations.

You may provide mentorship and oversight on multiple projects at a time and/or actively lead a large, complex project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication and leadership.
• Experience leading complex projects and design-build delivery.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners during design phase
• Oversee project budget, scope, and associated communications
• Manage overall project schedule through people management and achievement tracking
• Ensure regulatory approvals and permits are obtained
• Align design documents with project execution plan
• Resolve technical design and specification concerns
• Review project margin plans and develop financial strategies
• Establish and monitor project success factors for all stakeholders
• Create an integrated team experience through role clarity and communication
