Job summary

UL Solutions' Energy Storage Advisory team is seeking a Project Manager to lead Independent Engineering and Technical Advisory projects across energy storage and solar+storage portfolios. You will drive delivery, manage budgets, and engage clients to grow the advisory business.

You will chair multidisciplinary teams, guide technical direction, support proposals, and ensure on-time, on-budget results while advancing UL's standards and client relationships across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of project management experience in a professional or technical services environment, preferably renewables.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven client-facing delivery including proposal support, contract negotiation, and client relationship management.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• PMP or equivalent project management training preferred.
• Occasional travel for conferences and project deliverables (less than 10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead full-lifecycle delivery of Independent Engineering and Technical Advisory projects for energy storage and hybrid portfolios.
• Serve as the primary client interface, managing communications and relationships to drive satisfaction and cross-selling.
• Oversee project execution across scope, schedule, budget, and risk with execution plans and change management.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical consistency and adherence to UL standards.
• Provide high-level technical direction to support analyses and client objectives.
• Manage project financials, including forecasting, invoicing, and margin tracking.
• Support business development: proposals, pricing, scope definition, and client presentations.
• Drive client engagement and relationship growth through proactive communication and industry participation.
• Facilitate close-out activities, lessons learned, and internal process improvements.
• Mentor junior staff in project management practices and promote accountability.
• Represent UL at conferences and business development meetings.
• Guide strategic development for the due diligence team.
