Job summary

Luminate is seeking an experienced energy storage professional to join our advisory practice in a senior leadership role. As a Manager or Director, you will drive technical and commercial advisory services for stand-alone and hybrid energy storage projects across North America, leading teams and partnering with developers, lenders, utilities, and investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required; advanced degrees/certifications/licensure (e.g., PE) a plus.
• Strong understanding of integrated BESS design and applicable industry standards.
• Experience managing projects and leading technical teams.
• Practical knowledge of EPC, equipment supply, O&M, LTSA, and related project agreements.
• Familiarity with storage revenue structures (tolling, merchant strategies, hedging, energy arbitrage, ancillary services, capacity markets).
• Strong understanding of project economics and techno-economic modeling.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically to client and project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering technical and commercial advisory services across utility-scale and distributed energy storage projects.
• Provide due diligence for project finance and acquisitions and support development and owner's engineering activities.
• Evaluate technology, system design, and conduct EPC, equipment supply, and O&M contract reviews.
• Assess project risk and oversee construction, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Support project financing with commercial and technical analyses and project economics reviews.
• Collaborate with developers, IPPs, EPCs, equipment suppliers, lenders, investors, and utilities.
