Guidehouse is seeking an Associate Director to drive growth for utility and energy clients in the South Market. You will lead strategic engagements, develop client-ready insights, and mentor teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role focuses on decarbonization, grid modernization, and customer transformation, with hybrid work and significant travel. Applicants should have extensive energy/utilities experience and strong stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or US permanent resident.
• 7+ years post-grad experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or related field in energy/utilities.
• Master’s degree +5+ years in energy/utilities recommended.
• Must reside in Puerto Rico or be able to relocate.
• Strong understanding of utility business models and regulatory environments (NERC/CIP).

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic consulting engagements for investor-owned utilities and energy providers from problem framing to implementation.
• Develop client-ready insights via market research, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
• Drive client impact in decarbonization, grid modernization, and digital operations.
• Manage project teams with high-quality, timely deliverables and collaboration.
• Support business development through proposals, pitches, and account growth.
• Foster cross-practice collaboration to deliver integrated strategy-technology-ops solutions.
• Mentor junior consultants and promote a learning culture.
