Job summary

Brightcore Energy seeks an Associate Counsel to support geothermal, energy efficiency and solar verticals. You will draft, negotiate and manage project and commercial agreements, collaborate across engineering, finance and development teams, and advise on regulatory matters.

The role requires 4–8 years of transactional experience, a NY bar, and a strong ability to navigate complex energy contracts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• D. from an ABA-accredited US law school.
• Active and good-standing license to practice law in New York State (or ability to waive in).
• 4-8 years of post-law school transactional experience, ideally both in a law firm and in-house.
• Strong track record of drafting, negotiating and reviewing a variety of commercial contracts.
• Construction and/or energy experience highly preferred.
• Exceptional communication, organization, prioritization and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and manage construction, project development and other commercial agreements (EPC, O&M, subcontracts, vendor agreements, NDAs).
• Manage contract lifecycle from negotiation through execution and ongoing compliance.
• Support tax credit and incentive programs with finance and outside advisors.
• Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and mitigate legal risks and support growth.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector.
• Contribute across the legal department's initiatives including financing, M&A, governance and compliance.
