Job summary

Brightcore Energy is seeking an Associate Counsel to support geothermal, energy efficiency and solar projects. You will draft, negotiate, and manage project agreements, while coordinating with internal teams to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance.

The role involves working closely with finance, operations, and development teams in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities across the broader legal department.

Qualifications

• D. from an ABA-accredited US law school.
• Active New York license (or ability to waive).
• 4–8 years of post-law school transactional experience (law firm and in-house).
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Construction and/or energy sector experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and manage construction, project development, and other commercial agreements (EPC, O&M, subcontracts, vendor agreements, NDAs).
• Manage contract lifecycle from negotiation to execution and ongoing compliance.
• Support tax credit and incentive programs with finance and advisors.
• Collaborate with internal teams to analyze, communicate, and mitigate legal risks.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments in renewable energy.
