Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Energy Office seeks an Associate Energy Project Analyst to manage DCAS-funded projects, perform scientific research and analysis, and provide technical assistance for planning, funding, and implementing energy projects. This role supports the agency’s goals for energy efficiency, carbon neutrality by 2050, and zero waste by 2030.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in physical, biological, environmental, or public health sciences.
  • For Assignment Level II+, doctorate with supervisory/administrative or research experience or master’s with three years’ relevant research experience; at least two years in higher roles.
  • Probationary period of one year.

Responsibilities

  • Track and report progress on DEP-funded energy projects (DCAS ExCEL and ACE).
  • Identify potential projects and generate applications to secure external funding.
  • Assist project managers with project planning, milestones, and budgets.
  • Provide quantitative/qualitative data analysis and develop data tools.
  • Support procurement and documentation for DCAS-funded retro-commissioning projects.
  • Assist senior staff with project management and timelines for deliverables.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.
