Job summary

City of New York Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Associate Energy Project Analyst to manage DCAS-funded projects, perform research and analysis, and provide technical assistance for planning, funding, and implementing energy-related initiatives towards climate goals.

Responsibilities include tracking funded projects, identifying new energy-saving opportunities, maintaining project plans, and supporting procurement and documentation for retro-commissioning programs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science or public health.
  • Doctorate degree in physical, biological, environmental or social science with supervisory/administrative/research experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education/experience acceptable for senior levels.

Responsibilities

  • Track and report progress on portfolio of projects funded through DCAS ExCEL and ACE programs.
  • Identify potential projects and generate applications to secure external funding.
  • Assist project managers to advance priority projects and maintain plans.
  • Provide analytical assistance including data analysis and tool creation; train juniors.
  • Support procurement and documentation for DCAS Retro-commissioning funded projects.
  • Assist senior staff with project management timelines and budgets.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.

Education

Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science or public health
Doctorate degree in physical, biological, environmental or social science
Education and/or experience equivalent to above
