Job summary

The NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Division of Energy Management seeks a Senior Engineer, Agency Planning and Implementation (API) to lead energy efficiency projects, master planning, and data-driven portfolio management for City agencies. You will oversee technical calculations, liaise with stakeholders, and support strategic planning across the DEM portfolio.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in energy management, HVAC analysis, and proficiency in Excel,

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, energy management, building science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to four years (or more) of energy generation or conservation work, depending on education; advanced degrees may count for experience.
• Proven ability to oversee energy efficiency projects, master planning, and data-driven portfolio prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee energy efficiency project development with agency personnel and DEM programs.
• Support agency energy master planning and project prioritization.
• Assist in internal process improvements and training within API.
• Oversee technical calculations and analysis, including energy calculators and models.
• Maintain and improve internal databases and portfolio planning data.
• Liaise with agency partners, DEM staff, consultants, and researchers.
• Support strategic planning and external communications for hearings and public events.
• Supervise Associate Engineer and provide mentorship and technical guidance.
