Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. is offering an internship in the Integrated Plan Delivery team, with focus on economic transmission analysis and broader planning responsibilities across electrical distribution, transmission, energy supply, and natural gas networks.

The position supports internships in a hybrid environment in Minnesota and Colorado, with opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow while gaining hands-on experience in energy planning and policy considerations.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher.
• Enrolled in ABET accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Economics, or Engineering Physics.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours per week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours per week) and commute in-person per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Participate in intern development program.
• Learn about Xcel’s planning process.
• Collect and prepare data for studies.
• Perform studies as appropriate.
• Write study and assumptions reports as appropriate.
