Job summary

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) seeks a Client Services Representative to support the Energy & Fuel team in Downtown Boston. You will handle outreach, intake, verification, and processing of Energy Program applications, and assist clients with energy-related services.

You will work with a team to provide exceptional client service, maintain accurate files, and respond to inquiries. A high school diploma and strong communication skills are required, with bilingual abilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, up to 12 months of general office experience.
• Some college coursework is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility, initiative and ability to work in a team.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• Ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Energy Programs Director with outreach, intake, verification and processing of Energy Program applications and client communications.
• Provide outreach and education to potential clients and Fuel Assistance Intake Sites by telephone, mailings and meetings.
• Respond to client inquiries and follow-up as needed.
• Conduct face-to-face client intake interviews and collect documentation for processing.
• Assist in follow-up of Energy program applications requiring additional information.
• Maintain applicant files accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure energy-related program outreach and intake across programs.
• Record and refer winter heating emergency calls; support utility payment programs.
• Provide utility usage queries and contact clients in payment programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
