Energy + Environmental Economics (E3) is seeking an Associate to join our New York team. You will contribute to forecasting models, market analyses, and policy work for electricity-sector clients, collaborating with senior staff on client deliverables.

The role emphasizes research, stakeholder communication, and developing tools to inform decision-making. A strong quantitative background and eagerness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in engineering, economics, CS, public policy, or related field.
• 0-2 years of prior experience in energy and climate change issues.
• Hands-on experience or knowledge in Energy Planning and Policy, Transmission, Pricing and Risk, and/or Market Advisory and Valuation.
• Collaborative work style, able to support teammates.
• Strong fluency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Desire to work in a dynamic office environment with other staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the delivery of customer work through modeling, developing presentations, writing, and preparing reports and papers, and helping with additional customer requests.
• Conduct independent research using your ingenuity to make reasonable assumptions and produce appropriate solutions, including country-level energy market research and regulatory documents references.
• Develop competence in at least one topic within your Practice Area, applying E3 tools to client questions.
• Complete complex analytical tasks with guidance from senior staff.
• Translate research results into clear visual representations.
• Aid project heads in creating client-ready spreadsheets and tools for stakeholder products.
• Make simple modifications to existing tools and models.
• Proactively track actual performance against the plan and communicate with leadership.
• Capture project learnings for knowledge management and reuse.
• Assist with internal initiatives as needed.
