Job summary

New York State Department of Public Service seeks a Policy Analyst 2 (Energy) to support the Transportation and Grid Modernization Unit within the Clean Energy and Markets section. The role focuses on DER and DR programs that advance CLCPA implementation, including Dynamic Load Management and Value of Distributed Energy Resources initiatives.

You will analyze policies, prepare action-oriented reports, and present findings at relevant forums.

Qualifications

• One year as Policy Analyst 1 (Energy) or seven years in related energy policy work.
• Substitutions: degrees may offset years of experience as specified.
• Experience with CLCPA-related programs and energy policy implementation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development and oversight of DER and DR programs under CLCPA.
• Assist in policy analysis and development for energy market reforms.
• Prepare detailed reports with findings and recommended actions.
• Testify or present at seminars and meetings on energy policy topics.
• Provide technical direction and QA review for lower-level staff.
• Review utility filings and assist in developing position on issues.
