Job summary

New York State Department of Public Service seeks a Policy Analyst (Energy) Trainee to support the Data, Innovation, & Research group within the Efficiency, Equity, & Innovation section. This role involves coordinating with OMI, developing data access frameworks, and supporting the IEDR and Community Choice Aggregation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in review, analysis, development, or implementation of energy programs or policies.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; associate degree for two years; master's for five years; JD for six years.

Responsibilities

• Identify factors relevant to policy development and summarize strengths and weaknesses of alternatives.
• Assist with drafting and editing proposals for new policy initiatives and reassess existing policies.
• Review and summarize party comments in Commission proceedings.
• Engage with stakeholders to analyze impacts and concerns.
• Perform data gathering, analysis, forecasting, and modeling.
• Stay informed on state and national energy industry trends and conduct innovative research.
