Job summary

The Policy Analyst 1 (Energy), Grade 18, supports the Data, Innovation, Research Group within the New York State Department of Public Service's Office of Markets and Innovation in Albany. The role involves developing and implementing energy data frameworks, managing research portfolios, and analyzing energy policy and programs across renewable energy, efficiency, electrification, and market design.

The position requires six years of relevant energy policy experience (or education substitution)

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in energy policy, program analysis, or implementation in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, electrification, demand response, or energy market design.
• Advanced expertise in technical energy policy development and oversight.
• Strong data gathering, analysis, and forecasting skills.
• Experience with stakeholder engagement and Public Service Commission proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement energy data frameworks and research portfolios.
• Analyze energy policy and programs across renewable energy, efficiency, electrification, and market design.
• Engage stakeholders and contribute to PSC proceedings as part of policy development.
