Job summary

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is seeking a Performance Engineer to join the Public Sector East team in New England or New York. The role involves frequent travel (25–50%), serving as the primary technical project developer and translating customer needs into concrete, cost-effective energy solutions.

You will conduct site surveys, perform energy savings calculations, develop financial models, and coordinate with account executives and project managers to present proposals and ensure successful

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or equivalent
• Three to eight years' experience in a construction or energy service related field
• Certifications such as CEM, CMVP, LEED, NEBB, TAB or ASHRAE are a plus
• Professional License (PE) and NCESS Record are desirable

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies and analyzes utility bills
• Create technical plans and communicate solutions to internal teams and customers
• Perform energy savings calculations and life cycle cost analysis of recommendations
• Develop financial models based on customer parameters and project results
• Coordinate with Account Executive and Project Manager to develop proposals and ensure smooth installations
• Serve as technical resource consultant for customers and support delivery teams
