Job summary

Energy Systems Group is seeking a Performance Engineer to support the Public Sector East team in New England or New York. The role will require extensive travel (25–50%) and deep technical work to turn customer needs into concrete energy solutions.

The engineer leads analyses of facility energy use, cost-reduction strategies, and project cost forecasting, while supporting delivery teams to ensure high-quality installations and measurable savings.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited degree or equivalent required.
• 3–8 years of experience in construction or energy service related field.
• Bonus: 10 years of experience in construction or energy service related field.
• Certifications such as CEM, CMVP, LEED, NEBB, TAB, or ASHRAE preferred.
• Professional License (PE) and NCESS Record are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-depth site surveys to identify inefficiencies and analyzes utility data.
• Create technical plans and communicate solutions to customers and internal teams.
• Perform energy savings calculations and life-cycle cost analyses; establish guaranteed savings.
• Build financial models based on client inputs and project results.
• Coordinate with Account Executives and Project Managers to develop proposals.
• Ensure smooth installation by coordinating with operations and sales teams.
• Identify subcontractors and consultants to support project delivery to standard.
