Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA, headquartered in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Head of Origination to lead Retail and Wholesale origination strategies for its Gentailer business. You will structure, pitch, and close complex energy deals, collaborating with Trading, Risk, Analytics, Strategy, and Retail teams across North America.

The role reports to the Chief Risk Officer and requires leadership in deal execution for large commercial and industrial customers, with a focus on tolling and PPAs, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field of study.
• Minimum 10 years in energy with at least 5 years in power origination and trading.
• Proven P&L track record from wholesale tolling arrangements and PPAs.
• Experience structuring and negotiating retail power service agreements for large customers.
• Established network of industry contacts and understanding of wholesale markets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CRO, COO, CSO to shape origination strategy and build deal pipeline.
• Execute full transaction cycle with structuring, pitching, negotiating terms, closing deals.
• Lead origination within M&A, serving large C&I loads including datacenters and crypto miners.
• Develop wholesale counterparty networks and foster strategic broker relationships.
• Own KPIs for the Origination team and deliver results.
• Maintain relationships with customers and regulators; engage with decision-makers.
• Maintain ties with PUCs, RTO/ISOs and other industry forums.
• Support due diligence for late-stage projects and related asset transactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
