Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA, headquartered in Houston, is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join the deregulated electricity-focused wholesale desk. The role requires independent, results-driven professionals who can run analytics for risk reporting, pricing, and supply management in ERCOT and PJM.

Located onsite in Houston, the candidate will interact with Supply, Energy Analytics and finance teams, build models, monitor risk, and communicate insights to senior leadership to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or quantitative hard science.
• 5–8 years of work experience in Energy Industry.
• Experience in deregulated electricity markets.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to assess mathematical derivative pricing models in real-world conditions.
• Strong verbal and writing skills.
• Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain monitoring checks for risk limits and mark-to-market reports.
• Assist in marking wholesale and retail price curves.
• Serve as the business analyst for Supply-related IT projects.
• Support financial analysis and deliverables for internal stakeholders.
• Maintain risk and pricing model inputs for all product types.
• Collaborate with finance to explain drivers affecting margins.
• Coordinate supply-related management presentations and project activities.
• Provide financial analysis for budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Deliver key financial analysis for day-to-day and strategic decisions.
• Prepare financial models and data mining tools for variance analysis.
