American Terawatt is building a national-scale electric grid by connecting transmission developments with data centers and large industrial loads. The Energy Markets Lead will model value, identify opportunities, and support risk and feasibility analyses for scalable HVDC networks.

You will work across data gathering, market design familiarity, and data-driven partnerships, contributing to a national grid strategy with a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis and data integration.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience in energy analysis, energy GTM, or capacity/resource planning for an energy developer, utility, IPP, consultancy, hyperscaler, or similar.
• Strong quantitative modeling skills: fluent building and maintaining financial/market models, plus the ability to wrangle data programmatically (Python, SQL, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with US wholesale power markets and the interconnection process — ISO/RTO market design, LMPs and congestion, and the generator interconnection queue (cluster studies, FERC Order 2023).
• Understanding of utility and ISO/RTO tariff filings and rates.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a market model of the value of transmission development, using data such as announced datacenter capacity, interconnection queues, industrial development, and load forecasts.
• Build and maintain a portfolio of transmission opportunities, tracking demand vs. deliverable capacity and matching with stranded generation.
• Assemble sizing, siting, and commercial context for opportunities; contribute to risk modeling and desktop diligence with feasibility analysis.
• Model the commercial impact of link development within the network strategy, identifying opportunities to add nodes or reduce costs.
• Develop processes for gathering and cleaning public and proprietary data including ISO/RTO queues and forecasts.
