Job summary

Guidehouse in Houston seeks a senior energy markets modeling consultant to lead complex client engagements, develop market models, and forecast North American energy conditions. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate across the team to deliver insights on ESG, decarbonization and renewable integration.

The role requires deep knowledge of ISO/RTO markets and experience with dispatch models, plus the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, energy finance, or engineering with 5+ years post-grad experience; or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Post-graduation experience with economic dispatch models: Aurora, Origin, PLEXOS, BID3, or PSO.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; data analytics, modeling, and visualization.
• Proactive, independent work style with ability to own large task portions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to travel and work from Guidehouse offices.

Responsibilities

• Originate, close, and lead large, complex client engagements.
• Manage staff and assist in business development efforts.
• Track and analyze energy market trends.
• Translate client inquiries into actionable scopes of work.
• Compile reports, presentations, and solutions communications for clients.
• Support day-to-day management of client relationships.
• Develop and use analytical models, programming, and simulations to forecast market prices.
• Review model outputs via data collection and analysis.
