Job summary

Guidehouse in Austin seeks a Managing Consultant to lead energy markets and systems modeling engagements. You will develop and apply quantitative market models, forecast conditions, and advise utilities and sponsors on renewables integration and decarbonization.

You will supervise staff, manage client relationships, translate inquiries into scopes, and communicate solutions through reports and presentations. Travel up to 25% is required; domestic travel preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years post-graduation experience in consulting, strategy, or project development
• Experience with economic dispatch models (Aurora, Origin, PLEXOS, BID3, or PSO)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with data analytics, data modeling, and visualization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Originating, closing, and leading large, complex client engagements
• Managing staff and assisting in business development
• Tracking and analyzing energy market trends
• Translating client inquiries into actionable scopes of work
• Preparing reports and presentations for clients
• Supporting day-to-day client relationships
• Developing analytical models, programming, and simulations
• Reviewing model outputs and data processing
