Job summary

Electric Power Engineers (EPE) is hiring a Technical Business Development Strategist – Energy Market Analysis & Regulatory. The role bridges market intelligence with business development to pursue opportunities in North American energy markets.

The candidate will work with EMA, Regulatory, and BD teams to uncover client needs, shape offerings, and engage utilities, regulators, and developers. Remote US location, travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Energy, Public Policy, Business, or related field.
• 7+ years in electricity markets, utility strategy, regulatory affairs, energy economics, or related areas.
• Experience with utilities, ISO/RTOs, regulators, and market participants.
• Strong understanding of North American electricity markets and their interactions.
• Experience developing technical or advisory scopes, proposals, or regulatory materials.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market, regulatory, policy, and investment developments across FERC, state commissions, ISO/RTOs, utilities, and other participants.
• Identify opportunities from market reforms, regulatory requirements, and capacity expansion.
• Translate signals into data-informed target lists and actionable opportunities with EMA, Regulatory, and BD leaders.
• Lead white-space development and client engagement strategies with EMA and Regulatory teams.
