Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens is seeking an Energy Manager to lead energy planning and drive efficiency across an affordable housing portfolio. You will coordinate with NYSERDA and internal teams, set carbon reduction goals, and implement energy initiatives.

You will develop and manage energy tracking, reporting, and training for staff, ensuring compliance and measurable savings across 34 projects and portfolios in Brooklyn and Queens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Certifications: CEM, CEA, PE.
• Minimum 5 years in facilities management, energy management, or real estate sustainability.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Experience in energy tracking software and reporting tools.
• Strong leadership and coordination with maintenance teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel across the five boroughs.
• Ability to respond to 24-hour emergencies by phone.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy planning, tracking, and compliance across 34 projects.
• Develop energy management plans aligned with NYSERDA Scope of Work.
• Establish energy-tracking and reporting systems for compliance.
• Lead a cross-functional energy team and coordinate regular reviews.
• Coordinate with NYSERDA representatives and internal departments.
• Deliver quarterly and final NYSERDA reports on time.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize operations.
• Execute major energy efficiency projects within 24 months.
