Job summary

Primoris Energy Services in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks an Estimator to calculate costs for energy construction projects, including pipelines, facilities, and infrastructure. You will analyze blueprints, proposals, and specifications to estimate time, materials, and labor, and collaborate with engineers and project managers on scope.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (or equivalent) and 3–5 years in construction estimating, preferably in energy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably energy/oil & gas.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and project documents.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, B2W) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for energy construction projects (pipelines, facilities, infrastructure).
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals to estimate time, cost, materials, and labor.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders on scope and requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate favorable terms.
• Identify risks and opportunities in project costs; maintain cost databases and historical data.
• Participate in proposal development and client presentations as needed.
• Communicate estimate details and assumptions to internal teams and external partners.
