Job summary

Primoris Services Corp. is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate, insight-driven estimates for major industrial projects, analyzing P&IDs, piping, and equipment installation scopes.

You will work with proposal and engineering teams to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates, identify risks, and help deliver competitive bids.

The role requires 5–10 years in industrial construction, proficiency with Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, Word, and Primavera, and a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years in industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
• Familiarity with EPC contracting, bidding and pricing strategies.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel and Word.
• Knowledgeable in Primavera.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze bid documents to determine scope of work.
• Quantify mechanical piping work scope from P&IDs and create detailed pipe estimates.
• Research and understand construction sequences for equipment erection.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Identify risks during estimates and determine proper mitigation plans.
• Evaluate factors influencing productivity and develop forecasts for management decisions.
• Collaborate with the proposal team to ensure client requirements are met.
• Request and obtain current pricing for bulk materials from suppliers.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks.
