Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager/Environmental Scientist to support environmental assessments, permitting, and regulatory compliance for energy infrastructure projects in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The role involves directing teams of experts, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and interfacing with clients. Field work may be required, with a focus on delivering high-quality environmental solutions.

Qualifications

• Five years of related environmental consulting, permitting, regulatory, or project delivery experience.
• Experience supporting energy-related projects (electric transmission, wind, solar, BESS, oil/gas).
• Strong knowledge of environmental sciences, permitting, and regulatory strategy.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% for meetings and field work.

Responsibilities

• Support electric transmission, solar, wind, BESS and pipeline projects with environmental assessments and permitting.
• Coordinate with agencies, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical solutions.
• Prepare and review environmental permit applications and supporting docs.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with proposals, scopes, and budgets.
• Communicate technical information clearly to clients and agencies.
